About the Conference
This is the 11th Biometrics Institute Australia Conference which is the leading biometrics event in the region presented by the not-for-profit Biometrics Institute Ltd. This event will give you access to the key players in the Biometrics Industry and you can share your experiences with other biometrics users.
The event will focus on biometrics including commercial and government applications, technology updates, privacy considerations, human factors issues and testing & evaluation.
This event will include:
- 2 Day Conference: featuring five international speakers, panel discussions, keynote addresses and networking opportunities
- Pre- conference morning Workshop on the 26th May (separate registration required)
- Pre- conference afternoon Seminar on the 26th May (separate registration required)

WORKSHOP: Biometrics Threat & Risk Assessment

This workshop will provide a practical overview on how to identify your critical business processes and undertake a risk assessment on a proposed or existing biometric system in the context of identity management relating to those business processes. On completion of this workshop participants will have a good understanding of identity management for business processes, be able to determine how biometrics can be used to strengthen identity management, have discussed risks and vulnerabilities associated with the use of biometrics and have an appreciation of security and privacy considerations

This seminar is an opportunity to receive a more in-depth presentation on Forensic Facial Recognition from Richard Vorder Bruegge who will also be giving a talk at the 11th Biometrics Institute Australia Conference on the 28 May 2010. Plus you will hear from Thomas Callaghan about the FBI DNA Programme and meet James A Loudermilk in this special seminar. James will be a speaker at the Conference on the 28 May 2010 on “Empowering our Partners to Connect, Identify and Know” including the FBI Rapid DNA Initiative

One of our popular functions of the event is the Conference Dinner. Strictly limited seating for 50 attendees ensures an exclusive audience with your industry peers.

Research Poster Exhibition

This event is a unique opportunity for you and your research organisation/ university to present your most recent scientific advances in biometric research and development to representatives from government, industry and the biometric user sector in a Poster Exhibition and Short Presentation.
Submission deadline for contributions: 3 May 2010.
Your participation as a poster presenter includes:
- A poster to be displayed within the Biometrics Institute Conference Exhibition PLUS
- A 10 -15 mins presentation on your research within the conference.
- The exhibition of posters is limited to 8 (eight) exhibitors.
