Our mission is to be a forum for biometric users and other interested parties and to facilitate the responsible use of biometrics.
Who we are?
The Biometrics Institute is the independent not-for-profit user group with currently over 100 member organisations including government departments, financial services institutions, health service providers and also vendors of biometric products and services. It is THE meeting place for organisations who have an interest in biometrics and would like to share experiences and receive information and training in an informal environment.
The Biometrics Institute is based in Australia but represents organisations from Australia, New Zealand and beyond.
What we do?
The Biometrics Institute provides unbiased information and education on biometrics through networking events, e-newsletters and this website portal. We can help you make an informed decision about the introduction and implementation of biometrics and how to go about it. We address issues such as:

The Biometrics Institute has developed a Privacy Code for the biometrics industry in Australia. This Code is a first of its kind!
Become a Code Subscriber to raise awareness of the importance of biometrics and data protection.
The Biometrics Institute has been a Finalist in 2008 and 2009 for the Australian Privacy Award in the Community and NGO Category for this work.
