· User and supplier membership categories are defined as follows:

User member:

User Members include those organisations implementing or planning to implement biometric technologies within their own organisation, namely Government or commercial user organisation (e.g. Banks)

Supplier member:

Vendor Members are those organsiations engaged in the production, distribution or sales of biometric technologies or services, namely Non-User Organisation such as Regulator, Supplier, Consultant

	Small User
			1 active participant A company, partnership, statutory authority or government department or other entity which is in the opinion of the Board carrying on business involving the use of or has a substantial interest in the use of biometric equipment or services but is not a supplier of biometrics equipment or services may apply for admission as a User Member of the Institute.
	Medium User
			2 - 3 active participants A company, partnership, statutory authority or government department or other entity which is in the opinion of the Board carrying on business involving the use of or has a substantial interest in the use of biometric equipment or services but is not a supplier of biometrics equipment or services may apply for admission as a User Member of the Institute.
	Large User
			5 - 9 active participants A company, partnership, statutory authority or government department or other entity which is in the opinion of the Board carrying on business involving the use of or has a substantial interest in the use of biometric equipment or services but is not a supplier of biometrics equipment or services may apply for admission as a User Member of the Institute.
	Very Large User
			10+ active participants A company, partnership, statutory authority or government department or other entity which is in the opinion of the Board carrying on business involving the use of or has a substantial interest in the use of biometric equipment or services but is not a supplier of biometrics equipment or services may apply for admission as a User Member of the Institute.
	Small Supplier
			1 active participant A company, partnership, statutory authority or government department or other entity which is in the opinion of the Board carrying on business involving the supply of biometric equipment or services may apply for admission as a Supplier Member of the Institute.
	Medium Supplier
			2 - 3 active participants A company, partnership, statutory authority or government department or other entity which is in the opinion of the Board carrying on business involving the supply of biometric equipment or services may apply for admission as a Supplier Member of the Institute.
	Large Supplier
			4 - 9 active participants A company, partnership, statutory authority or government department or other entity which is in the opinion of the Board carrying on business involving the supply of biometric equipment or services may apply for admission as a Supplier Member of the Institute.
	Very Large Supplier
			10+ active participants A company, partnership, statutory authority or government department or other entity which is in the opinion of the Board carrying on business involving the supply of biometric equipment or services may apply for admission as a Supplier Member of the Institute.
	Universities & Research Institution Subscription
			The institution is required to nominate a main contact who will benefit from the Biometrics Institute member services. The main contact can then share the information with colleagues. This subscription is targeted at research institutions *(non-commercial) and universities which are conducting research in the area of biometrics, identity management systems and surveillance. This subscription does not include voting rights. The subscription fee is AU$550 incl. GST for the 12 month subscription.
