Biometrics Institute Asia-Pacific Conference

Biometrics stakeholders to meet at Asia-Pacific Conference in Sydney

Biometrics stakeholders from across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond are invited to attend the 22nd annual Biometrics Institute Asia-Pacific Conference, taking place on 22 and 23 May 2024 in Sydney to help shape the responsible future of biometrics.

The independent Biometrics Institute brings together a diverse range of experts, including representatives from government agencies, commercial organisations, and technology providers. Over two days, attendees will engage in trusted and open dialogue on the most important issues surrounding biometrics, including the implications of AI and its relationship with biometrics and the future of secure identity solutions and digital identity management.

Unparalleled connections and insights

  • Open and trusted conversations: The Biometrics Institute provides a unique platform for open and honest discussions under Chatham House Rule. This ensures a safe space for productive dialogue on even the most sensitive biometrics topics. You have to be in the room to be part of what is being discussed.
  • Balanced thought leadership: In collaboration with its members, the Institute facilitates dialogue that addresses any potential gaps around policy and technology. This will then evolve into valuable guiding tools and help decision- and policy makers to be better prepared. This event will debate the relationship between biometrics and artificial intelligence.
  • Unmatched networking: Build lasting relationships and foster ongoing collaboration by connecting with representatives from a multitude of countries, ensuring a truly global perspective on this rapidly evolving field.
  • Direct access to policymakers: Gain valuable insights from key decision-makers directly involved in shaping biometric policy and implementation across the Asia-Pacific region.
  • World-class speakers: Engage with high-profile international and local experts addressing the latest advancements, challenges, and ethical considerations surrounding biometrics.

Building a collaborative, and responsible future

The Biometrics Institute Asia-Pacific Conference is not a typical industry event. The Institute creates a unique platform where attendees can forge connections and deepen their knowledge. By learning from industry experts and peers, participants gain fresh perspectives on the latest technologies and trends. Furthermore, the Institute fosters innovation and responsible use of biometric technology through meaningful and trusted conversations. The discussions at the event will influence the future work the Institute does on guiding its community in the responsible, ethical and effective use of biometrics.

More information on this unique opportunity to connect with thought-leaders and shape the future of responsible biometrics innovation and implementation is available on the Asia-Pacific Conference 2024 event listing.

A Digital Identity & Biometrics Workshop will also be held on 21 May, preceding the main conference.
