A process that delivers trusted guidance

Our peer review process rigorously ensures that all Institute material, from concept to final release, fairly reflects a balanced perspective across all stakeholders and viewpoints relevant to the subject matter.

  1. ConceptThe concept and outline of desired material are developed through member engagement and expert group input
  2. First draftA designated group, chosen from expert groups, sub-committees, or assembled teams of experts, drafts the initial version.
  3. First reviewRelevant expert groups, members, and stakeholders with specific expertise or viewpoints, carefully selected for diverse perspectives, conduct the first review.
  4. Released to candidates: The assigned development group incorporates reviewers’ proposed amendments, comments, and diverse perspectives, redrafting as needed.
  5. Release review: The Institute’s Directors conduct the release review, seeking additional expertise if necessary, which may lead to a redraft by the assigned group.
  6. Member review: For specific content, members with particular interest provide feedback before wider release.
  7. Release: Reader and user feedback is considered at the next review point for ongoing improvement of the material.
