Lifetime Achievement Award in Biometrics

Introducing the Biometrics Institute Lifetime Achievement Award

To mark 25 years of the Biometrics Institute community, we are pleased to launch our Lifetime Achievement Award, recognising an exceptional individual whose career has made a sustained and meaningful contribution to the responsible, ethical and effective use of biometrics. This award celebrates long‑term leadership, influence and impact—honouring those who have shaped biometrics, and who embody the Institute’s values: Trusted, Impactful, Collaborative and Accountable.

Call for nominations now open

We invite Biometrics Institute members to nominate outstanding individuals—whether a peer or yourself—whose work has gone beyond their role, to advance the biometrics community over time. Nominations close on 4 September 2026.

The award will be presented at the Biometrics Institute Congress on 20–21 October 2026 in London. Submissions should be made via our nomination form (download below) which includes full details on award criteria and process. Completed forms should be sent to carolyn@biometricsinstitute.org. We encourage members to help us recognise excellence by putting forward nominees who exemplify responsible leadership in biometrics.

About the judging panel

All nominations will be assessed by an independent judging panel drawn from the Biometrics Institute Advisory Council. The panel comprises experts from across the global biometrics community, recognised for their experience, integrity and long‑standing commitment to the responsible use of biometrics. Collectively, they bring diverse perspectives ensuring a balanced and rigorous evaluation process.

The judging panel will review all eligible nominations against the published criteria and vote individually before selecting the recipient. Their involvement reflects the Institute’s commitment to transparency, fairness and excellence in recognising lifetime achievement:
