Silver Jubilee Celebration: Building trusted identities through responsible AI and biometrics
25 November
Canberra, Australia
To celebrate our community’s 25th anniversary we are offering complimentary registration to all Biometrics Institute user members.
DATE
25 November 2026
LOCATION
Hyatt Hotel
Canberra, Australia
BACKGROUND
As technology is moving at a very fast pace it is essential for organisations to be clear on policy and process as they are implementing biometrics to manage identities, whether in the physical or digital world. Trusted conversations build the foundation to assess the opportunities and risks that biometrics present and identify potential gaps where further guidance is needed.
This year is a year of celebrations. Therefore, Showcase Australia will be replaced by a half-day event with a focus on trusted conversations and networking. Biometrics Institute members and key stakeholders who are celebrating 25 years of the promotion of the responsible use of biometrics have the opportunity to join roundtables of eight to have open conversations. The session is enriched with high-level talks and debates presented by key industry figures. As with other Institute events throughout 2026, the discussions will reflect on how far we have come with the responsible use of biometrics and related technologies and project what the future may look like with the arrival of AI.
A different format
The Institute’s 25-year Silver Jubilee is a year of celebrations. Therefore, our annual Showcase Australia conference will be replaced by a half-day event focused on trusted conversations and optimal, exclusive networking. The event features three sessions, each in a different format: To start the morning, Biometrics Institute members and key stakeholders will enjoy high-level talks and discussions led by key industry figures over a table-service brunch. This will be followed by a networking session in the pre-function area, where attendees can meet with our sponsors and other members for informal, smaller one-on-one conversations. Delegates will then return to our roundtable discussions breakout room to dive deeper into hot topics, current and future trends. As with other Institute events throughout 2026, the discussions will reflect on how far we have come with the responsible use of biometrics and related technologies and project what the future may look like with the arrival of AI.
The event is complimentary to Biometrics Institute user members as part of their membership.
There are also sponsorship opportunities for supplier organisations to host a table and provide a panellist to join a high-level discussion on the future of biometrics and AI.
Members please note that the Annual General Meeting will be held on the following day. Contact anne@biometricsinstitute.org to get details.
