MEETING OUTLINE
Join us to shape the future of biometrics, responsibly, ethically and effectively.
This highly interactive half-day side event offers an opportunity to meet with the Expert and Sector Groups of the Biometrics Institute who help develop our good practice guidance, and to ask questions and deepen the discussion on key themes from the Congress, held on the preceding two days.
The event will explore existing recommended and good practices for biometrics and how to put them into use. It is also the opportunity for participants to provide input into current and future Biometrics Institute projects and activities, all with the aim of continuing to promote the responsible and ethical use of biometrics.
In previous Joint Expert & Sector Group Meetings, with thanks to our members’ input, we have been able to understand where the most pressing need for good practice guidance lies, and what might be required to fill the gaps. In 2018 this led to the development of our Ethical Principles for Biometrics, and the following year resulted in work being started on our Verification (1:1) and identification (1:n) explanatory graphics, two terms that had continued to caused confusion in the biometrics industry.
SPEAKERS INCLUDE:
- Isabelle Moeller, Chief Executive, Biometrics Institute
- Dan Bachenheimer, Biometrics Institute Privacy and Policy Expert Group Member
- Roger Baldwin, Biometrics Institute Advisory Council Member
- Martin George, Biometrics Institute Digital Identity Group Member
- Shashi Samprathi, Head of the Biometrics Institute Borders User Group
