The GDPR makes some additional requirements compulsory for obtaining individuals consents to your processing of their data. I have looked at your membership registration form and the various on-line event registrations. I would advise that the privacy statement and opting- in consent is made more explicit. The GDPR states that privacy statements detailing what the Company will do with personal data and how it will process it need to be prominent, in clear English and provide details of how an individual may opt out. I think that the privacy statement at the bottom of your application for membership should be changed to read as follows:
By providing the information on this form, you consent to Biometrics Institute processing your data for the purposes of:
Processing payment for your membership, creating a membership certificate, publishing in our members register, for communicating with you electronically and by post to inform you of future Biometrics Institute activities, events, news and member services. You consent to Biometrics Institute transferring your data outside of the EEA to its group companies and partners for the purposes set out above.
Should you wish to withdraw your consent to our processing of your data or should you wish to amend the data that we hold for you for the above purposes, please send an email to email@example.com with the title ‘Privacy Statement Withdrawal’.
