MEETING OUTLINE

In 2026 the Biometrics Institute is celebrating its 25th anniversary and as part of the celebration we are running a series of meetings for the Biometrics Institute community.

Our member meetings are a place where you can learn from your peers in biometrics as well as share your views and expertise in a trusted environment.

The Biometrics Institute provides a platform for rich, balanced and trusted conversations. View our Statement of Trusted Conversations to understand what makes our events unique. For example, the event will be held under Chatham House Rule and will be off-the-record (no media) to facilitate open dialogue between our members and stakeholders.

Topics discussed at this Meeting include:

    • Key considerations of biometric application at the border 2.0
    • Transforming immigration clearance and service delivery at the Singapore Immigration & Checkpoints Authority
    • Challenges in the use of biometrics at border control and emerging trends observed in Thailand
    • Facial recognition performance, border management and standards
    • Liveness detection and robustness against fraud

We will also have an industry thought-leadership panel discussing the questions:

    • What (digital) identity challenges are organisations facing?
    • Keeping it real: Proof of presence and the role of biometrics
    • How can biometrics enable uniqueness for digital identities?
    • What will border management look like?
    • The history of the future of biometrics: What was a key development in the use of biometrics and how can we build on that experience going into the future?
