User Membership
Become a User Member
A company, partnership, statutory authority or government department or other entity which is in the opinion of the Board of the Biometrics Institute carrying on business involving the use of or has a substantial interest in the use of biometric equipment or services but is not a supplier of biometrics equipment or services may apply for admission as a User Member of the Institute. Government agencies, financial institutions, health organisation or the aviation industry are examples for this category.
Supplier Membership
Become a Supplier Member
A company, partnership, statutory authority or government department or other entity which is in the opinion of the Board carrying on business involving the supply of biometric technology, equipment or services may apply for admission as a Supplier Member of the Institute. This includes manufacturers of biometric technologies, card manufacturers, system integrators, consultants amongst others.
University Subscription
Become a University Subscriber
This subscription is targeted at universities (non-commercial nor government agency nor linked (perceived to be linked) in any form to a commercial business) conducting research in the area of biometrics and identity management. The institution is required to nominate a main contact who will benefit from the Biometrics Institute member services. The main contact must be a full-time employee or student of the university. The same also applies to any of the attendees at events.
This subscription does not confer voting rights within the Biometrics Institute. Subscriptions may only be conferred at the discretion of the Board.
This subscription offers:
- Free access to Biometrics Institute member meetings (online and in person for the main contact
- Subscriber rates for conferences, seminars and workshops
- Opportunity to present the latest research to industry at Biometrics Institute events (subject to available speaking slots)
- Publish research via the Biometrics Institute’s communication channels (New Digest)
- Gain insights into areas that may require further research
- Facilitate collaborative research, development and evaluation work
